How did you lose your eye sight?

Hello, how is it going? Just a general question for everyone. If you lost your sight before and you were still able to see a little bit before your sight deteriorated, how did you deal with the situation? What are some signs that your eye sight is deteriorating. What was your experience. I know everyone has different eye conditions, but feel free to share your thoughts on this matter.
Thanks

Jeesh, there are probably half a dozen discussions on this topic already on here somewhere.

Cassandra,
I have an eye condition that is causing my eyesight to deteriorate. I can tell this by not being able to see things that I once could. It's a comparison of maybe a year to year, not a day by day.
I miss seeing things, but I have to look at the fact that there is more to seeing things. I sometimes would like to have been born blind and never had the opertunity to see.

I can see, but R. O. P. only cuz I don't feel like looking up the spelling of it, I can see farely well out of my left eye, and see nothing at all out of my right, but that doesn't stop the eye doctors from checking to make sure I can see out of it anyway. I had pretty good vision in my left for most of my life, but when I was in the 8th grade, I got hit on top of the head with a book bag, and that dislocated some things in my eye, made things fuzzy, and caused me to have several surgeries, one in ninth and one in 10th grade, or was it in 10 and 11th grade, I don't honestly remember. but I can still see out of my left eye, but I do get flashes, but i've just ignored them, because with the way my eye is I'll always have them, I also have something that looks like fuzz on a TV screen, but transperent, little pinprics of lite which are always there, I have no lense and have a buckle around it. my right has no lens and no retna.

I know it's not much, but I had light perception until the summer of 2005, when my right eye had to be removed, due to pain that no medication could get rid of completely. Yes, pregnazone could control it, but I'm glad I went through with the surgery. I see nothing out of my left eye.

I have aniridia, no vision what so ever in my left eye, and only occasion light perception in the right, most of the time none though. been this way for a good while now, i had at one time 20/40 vision and could drive, but that was when I had stem cell cornea transplants. there is nothing else they can do for me and my vision. ah well no a biggie.

Hmmm! well, I had light and colour when I was born and an Opaque cornea. When I was six months old, I had a corneal graft and that actually gave me some sight for a couple of months afterwards but of course, I don't remember being able to actually see. It was all too good to be true though, as my retina packed in some time before my first Birthday, leaving me with just light and colour again until shortly before I started school at around 4 and a half years old, then bam, it went all together. Now I'm only able to see very bright light around 50 cm away from the source.
